Prehistoric Wood Cuts

Here are a few dinosaurs and other prehistoric delights that I have created for my own enjoyment.

I will add more as they come along.

Baryonyx Walkeri, 39" long made from 3/4" thick pine
shelving with Minwax "Puritan Pine" stain. I made this
about a year ago (fall 2009). The teeth were very tricky
and fragile because the jaw and teeth are carved from one
piece of wood.

Gorgosaurus Libratus, 42" long, 3/4" thick pine for the skull, 3/8" thick pine for the teeth.
This was done February 2010 with Red Mahogany and Puritan Pine stains. The teeth were separate pieces and it took longer to put together but it was much easier to deal with. So for larger projects, this is the way to go.

Megaloceros Giganteus, 36" long. 3/4" Pine for the body, 3/8" pine for the antlers, Minwax Ebony, English oak, golden pecan stains. This was a gift for my dads retirement.

Baby Gorgosaurus. 36" long. Multiple stains. Made August 2010. Dimensions roughly based on information in Peter Larsons book "Rex Appeal".

Tristanosaurus (fictional Tyrannosaur) I made this for my neighbors little boy. About 8" long.
